Annual Marriage Mass and Renewal of Vows

The Marriage Mass and Renewal of Vows will take place on Sunday, 8th July at St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney, at 10.30 am. All married couples are welcome. Mass will be celebrated by His Grace, Archbishop Anthony Fisher. Married couples wishing to attend to renew their vows should register with the Life, Marriage and Family Centre on 9307 8404 or Registered couples celebrating 50th, 55th, 60th, or 65th wedding anniversaries will receive a special certificate from Archbishop Fisher. Special recognition will also be given to couples who were married at the Cathedral.

Postal Plebiscite

It’s ok to vote NO in the postal plebiscite. Redefining marriage in Australia will have serious consequences. We have seen no safeguards for individuals of faith. Radical gay sex education will return to schools. For more info or to get involved see:

Marriage Sunday at St Mary’s Cathedral

This event has been rescheduled from 09 October 2016 to 02 October 2016. Those married at St. Mary’s Cathedral are invited to return with their families for a special Mass of Thanksgiving, Blessing and Renewal of Vows on Sunday, 02 October at 10.30am, followed by morning tea & music in Chapter Hall. Certificates will also be presented for 25th, 30th, 40th, 50th or 60th anniversaries. Those with ancestors married at St. Mary’s Cathedral are also invited to join in this wonderful celebration. Today in the Archdiocese of Sydney we are celebrating Marriage and Family Sunday, when we remember, honour and pray for all marriages and families. In this Year of Mercy, we reflect upon Pope Francis’s teaching in Amoris Laetitia on forgiveness in marriage. A brochure on this theme, The Joy of Forgiveness: Forgiveness & Mercy in Marriage, has been prepared for this occasion. Please take a copy home to read and to pass on to others.

Afternoon for couples hoping to conceive

Married couples (Catholic or otherwise) who are hoping for children, struggling to conceive, or who wish to better understand what the Church offers and promotes in regard to fertility awareness and assistance are invited to an afternoon of information and discussion. It is also an important opportunity for fellowship with other couples facing similar difficulties.
