GOD HAS A GIFT FOR YOU THIS CHRISTMAS

…and it’s one you’ll not only want to keep forever, you’ll also want to regift it!

How long has it been since you met Christ in the Sacrament of Reconciliation? In this Year of Mercy, Pope Francis calls us all to enter more deeply into the merciful love of God. Not just those who have left the church or who only come to church occasionally – all of us. We all need God’s mercy, without exception. Even those who became saints after death, were saintly, precisely because they were so aware of their need for God’s grace and mercy.

Jesus waits for you in the confessional. In the revelations of Divine Mercy, Jesus said:”I Myself am waiting there for you. I am only hidden by the priest … I Myself act in your soul (1602). …Make your confession before Me. The person of the priest is, for Me, only a screen. Never analyze what sort of a priest it is that I am making use of; open your soul in confession as you would to Me, and I will fill it with My light (1725).”

There are all sorts of reasons why taking this time with Christ is not possible: I’m too busy, I have an engagement, it’s dinner time, I can go straight to God with my sins, I’m too ashamed, I don’t like the priest, I prefer to be anonymous, I haven’t finished my Christmas shopping, I’m tired etc…Do not let yourself be swayed by the voices of cynicism, complacency or fear.

Jesus yearns to give you the gift of mercy. Make this Christmas about Him.

Sacrament of Reconciliation: Mondays 9:30am (Private Confessions), Wednesday 23 Dec 7pm (Communal Service and Private Confessions).
