BE A COMPEER VOLUNTEER, CHANGE A LIFE!

Compeer is the St Vincent de Paul Society’s friendship program which trains volunteers to be matched with someone who is lonely and experiencing mental illness in their local community. Compeer volunteers provide friendship to their new friend by catching up regularly for simple social activities, such as having a cuppa, going for a walk or attending a community event. We currently need male and female volunteers from across Sydney. Training and ongoing support are provided, as well as the opportunity to connect with like-minded people at social events. An hour a week of your friendship can have a big impact on your new friend’s quality of life. To find out more call 9568 0295, email compeer@vinnies.org.au or visit www.compeer.org.au.

CANTORS WANTED!

St Mary’s Cathedral has three Masses every weekend led by a solo cantor. This is a vital part of the Cathedral’s liturgy and is carried out by volunteer singers. If you think you would like to serve the Cathedral in this important role as part of our team of cantors please contact the music department on 9220 0481 or music@stmaryscathedral.org.au. We are looking for people who have good voices and are keen to be involved with the liturgical life of the Cathedral. A basic knowledge of how to read music and some singing experience would be an
advantage.
