The Splendor of Truth

A Symposium on St John Paul II’s encyclical VERITATIS SPLENDOR 25 years on
To acknowledge and celebrate the 25th anniversary of VERITATIS SPLENDOR, the University of Notre Dame-Australia, will sponsor a multi-disciplinary Symposium on the legacy of this encyclical. Speakers include: Prof Renee Kohler-Ryan “Why Splendor: On the Art of the Moral Life” Dr Paul Morrissey: “Freedom, Truth and the Moral Law.” Dr Mariusz Biliniewicz: “Veritatis splendor and the Universal Call to Holiness.” Prof Isabell Naumann: “Ordered to the One who alone is good” (VS 73) and the Beauty of the Immaculata.” Dr Conor Sweeney: “The mystery of evil and the truth of the acting person.” Opening remarks from Most Rev. Richard Umbers, Auxiliary Bishop of Sydney. . Venue: The University of Notre Dame Australia, Sydney School of Philosophy and Theology Moorgate Building (NDS16) 10 Grafton Street, Chippendale. Date: 18-19 October 2018. Cost: $50 for Academics, $20 for Students.
