Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Kensington, provides Catholic religious formation classes for children who do not attend OLR Primary School in preparation for the Sacraments throughout the year. The Sacrament of First Eucharist is being offered at OLR Kensington for Baptised Catholic children who are in year three or above who have made their First Reconciliation. They will be guided and supported through their preparation program by our catechists and priest. Enrolments are now open. If your child is in year three or above and has not made their First Reconciliation please contact the coordinator at the email address below for more information on how to proceed.

Parent Information Session: 7 August, 6.30pm at OLR Church
Preparation Sessions: Saturdays 22, 29 June, 27 July, 3, 10, 17, 24 August 4.00 – 6.30pm commencing in the Rosary Room, (under OLR Church).
The sessions include the 5.30pm Vigil Mass. Please arrive 5 minutes early to sessions so that classes can start on time at 4.00pm.

First Eucharist Ceremony: September, 2024, 9.30am Sunday Mass (Exact date TBC).
Cost: $25 inclusive of learning material, certificate and medal. Payment is due prior to the commencement of classes and can be made by accessing this link: www.bpoint.com.au/pay/kensingtonparish

Registration: The enrolment form can be downloaded here. You can also contact Amanda at the Parish Office 9.00am - 3.00pm on Tuesdays or Thursdays on 9663 1070 or by email orlkensonsacraments@gmail.com to have a form emailed to you. You will need to supply a copy of your child's baptism certificate with this completed form. The closing date for enrolments is 15 June, 2024. We will contact you to confirm your enrolment has been approved. Once approved you will be required to make the $25 payment. Commitment Mass: 9.30am, 11 August, 2024
For all enrolled candidates and their families during which candidates will be presented to Fr Peter and the congregation.
Requirements: Candidates are expected to make the preparation sessions a priority and are required to attend all the sessions and Commitment Mass with one parent. Exceptions are medical emergencies including contagious diseases, and valid special family circumstances by arrangement with the coordinator. Mass attendance by the family is encouraged at the Commitment Mass. As part of the preparation the candidates are also expected to attend the Saturday Vigil Mass with the catechist. Attendance at weekly Sunday Mass is a teaching of the Catholic Church.
Dress Code: The celebration of the sacraments is a special occasion so please dress appropriately. The girls are asked to wear white with knees, back, shoulders and midriff covered. No plunging necklines. The boys wear a white shirt with dress pants or school trousers. No jeans, cargo pants or sneakers.
