Masses will go ahead this weekend. What do I need to know?
Protocols for people attending masses at OLR parish from 21/22 March 2020.
After reading the guidelines of the Archdiocese of Sydney as well as consulting huge number of the parishioners and meeting with OLR Liturgy Committee, I would like to convey to you some protocols.
Three regular masses will go ahead this weekend (Sat Vigil 6pm, Sunday 9.30am and Sunday 6pm).
Daily masses will be as usual.
Attendee for each mass will be limited to 100 as per government regulation.
To avoid disappointment, please register if you wish to attend mass via https://www.trybooking.com/BJFYU as numbers will be limited to 100. Provision will be made for elders and regulars who have no access to internet.
Only the side door of the church will be open to manage the entry attendance. Once the limit is reached, unfortunately we will be unable to allow more people in. In the event of emergency, the backdoor will be unlocked and people can exit via this door after the mass.
Social distancing of 1.5metre between each person/family unit will be enforced. Every other pew will be closed.
No choirs, altar servers, eucharistic ministers, etc with the exception of readers will be required. Readers please confirm with Maria (9663 1070) or via email olrkensoparish@gmail.com
We still need your contribution, but there will be NO plate. Please drop your contribution in the two collection boxes at the church’s entrance for first collection; and at the end of the mass for the 2nd collection. Alternatively EFT can be made via Maria by email olrkensoparish@gmail.com
Hand sanitizers are provided at the entrance and must be used.
We urgently need 6 volunteers for each mass to do the following:
Two at the side door to count the parishioner as they arrive and provide hand sanitizing
Four to usher at the beginning of mass and sanitize pews at the end of mass.
To volunteer, please sign up via volunteersignup.org/JJMWQ
Yours in the heart of Christ,
Fr Alo Lamere MSC
Parish Priest
